Wolves fans express concern as quiet transfer deadline continues

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted to the deadline transfer news, or rather lack thereof, on social media.

So far there has been little movement in the Molineux camp, although departures are likely.

Bruno Jordao, who signed in 2019, is set to be loaned out to Swiss side Grasshoppers.

Midfielder Ryan Giles is also set to leave on a back-to-back loan spell, this time to Blackburn Rovers after returning from Cardiff City.

While Taylor Perry and goalkeepers Andreas Sondergaard and Louie Moulden could also leave for more playing time.

In terms of income, Wanderers have been linked with an approach for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey after he became surplus to requirements under manager Massimiliano Allegri but could be set to miss out as a Scottish Rangers lead the race.

Bruno Lage and Co. have also reportedly made a loan-to-buy offer for Paris Saint-Germain’s Djeidi Gassama but have had their offer rebuffed.

With all that in mind, here’s the reaction of many Old Gold faithful when they took to Twitter to share their thoughts…

3TM: “[Sign] Anybody!”

Julian Kear: “Neves on an improved 5 year contract,” added another.

Real missing kid: “Anyone who doesn’t go to the Grasshoppers on loan would be fine.”

Malcolm Cinnamond: “A back-up midfielder would be great, but there’s no point buying panic when there’s so little available, it’s better than what we already have.”

Wolves of Dover: “It would be a waste of money to buy someone just to appease the fans.”

Ry: “Embarrassing lack of ambition.”

MARYLAND: “Nothing is happening…is this really news to us?”

Joe: “Do you realize how depressing this is?”

Will be: “I love Deadline transfer day…”

Scott: “It’s okay, I’m sure the esports team will make a signing…”

Ryan: “It’s just sad…”

Richard: “There’s no one left to buy thanks to Newcastle.”

Harley: “Fantastic.”

Philip Butler: “Normal Monday.”

Where is : “Quality over quantity Not surprised or overly concerned, we haven’t increased the squad. We have the best Wolves squad we’ve had in over 40 years, in the top 6. It’s harder to ‘improve a good team and there’s no point in just bringing in players below that standard.”

Christian: “Is this a strategy to get a place in the Europe League? Enough promise for future good players, Wolves need higher skills now! Like Sanches, Paqueta, Van de Beek.”

Andy B: “More fun than being a Wolves fan during a transfer window.”

Kim: “We need someone better than Dendoncker as backup CM. If Neves/Joao were to get injured we’re screwed, not to mention Joao’s age too. We could have 6 games in February if we beat Norwich on Saturday. Lack of team depth in this area is going to cost us.”

Book: “Wolves’ transfer windows are just the definition of ‘hope kills you’.”

Keiran: “We need more. The midfielder is needed before the deadline but it won’t happen.”

Danny Rosamond: “I expected nothing less so no stress.”

Wa1877: “Another absolutely awful window if we don’t sign a midfielder, we are 2 quality additions away from getting into the top 7 and finding Europe again and Bruno is left with 3cm for the season.”

Dan: “Poor window…”

Wolf : “I still need another striker, an attacking midfielder and a central defender. Still not addressed and I don’t think that will be the case…”
