Channel Nine has denied claims that the producers of Married At First Sight have approached ‘widows’ for the new season.

A spokesperson for Nine told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday: ‘The cast for the next season of MAFS does not target those who have recently lost a partner.

It comes after the show sparked controversy for false reports that the producers were trying to cast a widowed woman for its upcoming tenth season.

According to a report by Yahoo! Way of lifethe producers took to Instagram to pick the specific role, even reaching out to several women whose partners only recently passed away.

Speaking to the publication on Tuesday, a friend of a widow who was approached for the show lambasted the producers for their eyebrow-raising casting tactics.

“They are looking for a widow and literally sending a message to every woman she knows who is going through this trauma and some are very recent,” the woman said.

Nine announced its first casting call for the tenth season coming in February.

He said, ‘Are you looking for love? If you’re looking for The One and ready to settle down, Australia’s biggest social experiment might find your soul mate.

“Married At First Sight is looking for men and women of all ages and backgrounds who are genuinely committed to finding love,” the notice continues.

“This groundbreaking social experiment uses science and psychology to help Australian singles find their perfect partner.

“But there’s a catch…you won’t meet your future husband or wife until your wedding day!” »

He goes on to warn that the show is “not a competition and there are no cash prizes to be won”.

“Instead, you could walk away with the most precious prize of all…true love,” Nine’s post teases.

Additionally, potential stars are warned that they will have to give up four months of their lives for the show. He also insists that future couples must be “real about finding love”.

According to the casting call, the show will be filmed between early July and November 2022.

Interested parties are invited to apply on the show’s casting site, marieatfirstsightcasting.com.au.
