A few days have passed since the game was set up, Super Bowl LVI ticket prices are down across the board, with “entry” prices down nearly 15% on average from Thursday evening. Prices are still near historic highs, but it appears the market has cooled in the days following the explosion of excitement that followed the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals punching their tickets to the game at SoFi Stadium.

Average low and median ticket prices both fell over the week from their first all-time highs (average “get-in” was $6,500 on Monday), with StubHub offering the highest minimum price at most. of $7,500. That number is still at the high end of the range on Thursday night, but has fallen over a thousand dollars, to $6,476 after fees. StubHub’s median price rose slightly, but that’s due to the large number of super premium listings coming in at the top end that weren’t in this market when we looked on Monday. Even with StubHub’s slight median increase, the median dropped by an average of more than 11% across the eight marketplaces tracked.
If historical trends are any indication, the downtrend may soon reverse, making the next day or two a potentially strong opportunity to “buy the dip” in stock trading parlance. Historically, prices will take a downward trajectory in the week following the conference championships, but then begin to climb closer to game day and availability will become scarce.
