Kourtney Kardashian, 43, reveals her struggles with IVF

Kourtney Kardashian details her struggle with IVF as she tries to have a child with her fiancé Travis Barker.

In Episode 2 of The Kardashians, we see Kourtney at her home in Calabasas as Kris comes to visit, asking how the doctor is doing, as Kourtney responds, “Horrible.”

Kourtney reveals in confession that she and Travis want to have a baby, so their doctor took them “down the IVF path, and it hasn’t been the most amazing experience.”

The reality TV star is mother to 12-year-old Mason; Penelope, nine; and Reign, seven – with former partner Scott Disick, whom she dated from 2005 to 2015.

Kourtney says people are always saying on social media that she’s pregnant, revealing: ‘Everyone on social media is always like, Kourtney is pregnant, Kourtney is pregnant. Kourtney has gained so much weight.

“I’m like, it’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re actually going through.

“The drugs they gave me, they put me in menopause, literally in menopause.

She adds that the drug “basically put me into depression”, adding in her confession: “I think because I’m so clean and careful about what I put in my body, it’s like having the reaction completely. opposite and work as a contraceptive instead of helping us.’

“I have everything in the world to be happy. I just feel a little off and not like myself. Super moody and hormonal, like I’m crazy half the time,” Kourtney says.

Kris says she’s never seen Kourtney happier, but the drugs put her in depression, as Kourtney says she’s “super moody and hormonal.”

“Even though Kourtney has three beautiful children, it doesn’t hurt any less if you’re trying to have a baby and you’re struggling.”

Kris reveals that she got pregnant in 1994 and miscarried, “and my body completely shut down.” I was moody and depressed, I was bloated, I didn’t feel well, everything you described.

Kourtney revealed that they want a baby “so much because we want to do something together,” as Kris agrees, adding, “You want to put your own baby, your own love, in the world, the way that you know what it’s like to have a child, and now you want to do it with the love of your life.

IVF is typically used by women or couples who are having trouble conceiving naturally, and it involves retrieving eggs from the ovaries, which are then fertilized by sperm in a lab, before being transferred to the uterus.

Many women preparing to undergo IVF will receive one or more forms of fertility drugs from their doctor, which are used to trigger the release of hormones which then stimulate egg production.

In 2008, one of the first studies of the long-term effects of follicle stimulation concluded that IVF “appears to have no lasting impact on the timing or symptoms of menopause”, however, the research did not not yet cemented.

Kourtney didn’t say in the clip whether she’s still in menopause or just experiencing menopause-like symptoms, including irregular periods, hot flashes, chills, night sweats and weight gain.

Fertility drugs are known to cause symptoms very similar to those experienced during menopause, including hot flashes, weight gain, mood swings, and bloating.

Typically, menopause occurs when a woman is between 40 and 55 years old and is diagnosed after a person has gone 12 months without experiencing a menstrual cycle.

After menopause, a natural pregnancy is no longer possible, but IVF remains an option and previously frozen eggs can still be implanted.

It is not uncommon for women to gain weight during IVF treatments, as hormone injections can affect your weight as well as your level of hunger.

Kourtney previously responded to a rude fan in December last year when they asked her if she had a “pregnant belly” after posting photos of herself in a swimming pool with Travis.

‘Are we really going to do this every time I post a photo?’ replied the reality TV star.

Meanwhile, earlier in the episode, Kourtney is seen driving with Travis as they begin looking for new homes in Malibu together.

Kourtney says in confession, “Travis and I currently live in separate houses a block away from each other and we just want to explore the idea of ​​living in one house.”

“We are so in love with our homes right now and where we live that it will be hard to find anything better,” she adds.

They both meet their realtor Tomer at a house which Tomer says is “one of the most important estates in Bel-Air”.

He says it was built in 1934, “for a very prominent family” and has a “genealogical 1930s look”, as Kourtney adds that it has “a really cool style” that reminds him of “the ‘old Hollywood vibe of Frank Sinatra’.

They both start picking out their kids’ rooms as Kourtney says she can imagine them watching movies together.

Kourt searches the closet and finds a pair of shorts as Travis challenges her to try them on but she doesn’t.

Timer shows them the outdoor space as Travis sits on a couch and Kourt climbs on top of him, as Tomer takes a cue and leaves.

Kourt tells Travis that people were “pissed off by the Disneyland video of me on you,” adding that fans were wondering who was taking the video.

“He’s our tour guide,” Travis said with a laugh, as Kourtney says in her confession, “Kissing and hugging isn’t a bad thing.”

“I’m so grateful that my children can see a loving, caring relationship because they haven’t seen this in their entire lives,” she said in confession.

Travis tells her that he thinks people have a hard time “understanding how two people can be so loving and affectionate…because they’re miserable.”

He also joked that “Tomer ditched us”, as the real estate agent is seen hanging out inside.
