The FBI raided the apartment of Project Veritas agent Spencer Meads and the Conservative media’s Westchester office after obtaining a stolen diary from President Biden’s daughter Ashley the week before the 2020 election .

Project Veritas did not publish the diary, as founder James O’Keefe said in a video released Friday that the group could not confirm the diary’s authenticity, its membership of Ashley Biden, or that the diary’s contents were true. .

The investigation, ordered by the Department of Justice (DOJ), was conducted by both federal investigators and federal prosecutors in Manhattan, according to the New York Times.

The FBI searched two locations in New York City related to Project Veritas as part of an investigation into how Ashley Biden’s diary was stolen and published online. She is pictured at the center of her father’s inauguration in 2021

O’Keefe said Project Veritas was offered the newspaper by informants who said the then Democratic candidate’s daughter left it in a room she stayed in and informants stayed after her departure. O’Keefe said informants said they were buying it from other outlets to see who would offer money for it.

O’Keefe then claimed that once they got their hands on the newspaper they attempted to return it to a lawyer representing Ashley. The lawyer refused to authenticate the newspaper, so he said they then turned it into law enforcement.

But another conservative news site published the full 112-page diary on October 28, 2020, a week before the election. It was largely ignored by the media and other conservative news sites who were likely skeptical of its authenticity. The involvement of the Department of Justice, however, increases the likelihood that the writings are truly those of the first daughter.

The website claimed it obtained the diary of a whistleblower who worked for a media organization that refused to publish the story.

Ashley has kept a much lower profile than her half-brother Hunter, whose business connections former President Trump had in mind at the time of the newspaper’s publication.

Last year, the DOJ launched an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes.

O’Keefe said in the video that Project Veritas received a grand jury subpoena and the DOJ asked, but did not order, the group not to disclose the existence of the subpoena. O’Keefe said he did not know who disclosed the raid to the New York Times.

“In what world is the alleged theft of a newspaper investigated by the President’s FBI and his DOJ?” Newspaper. This inquiry is fueled by politics, ”said O’Keefe.

The DOJ under President Trump opened an investigation into the theft of the newspaper after a member of the Biden team reported it to authorities in October 2020. The Biden family representative said several of Ashley’s belongings Biden had been stolen, according to Times.

Project Veritas’ covert investigations and secret recordings have targeted Democrats, Planned Parenthood, media outlets like CNN and the Washington Post, Facebook, and even Pfizer-BioNTech.

At one point, former British spy Richard Seddon was recruited to train the operatives of Project Veritas.

Seddon owns a company, Branch Six Consulting International, registered at an address in Sheridan, Wyo. Flyover Media, the company that owns the website that published the newspaper, is registered at this same address.

The founder of Project Veritas was once president of a company that was also registered at the same address.

Project Veritas is currently suing the New York Times for defamation over a video they posted containing allegations of voter fraud. The Times called the video “misleading” and full of “misinformation.”
