Fans have taken to social media to praise Cadiz goalkeeper Conan Ledesma for his life-saving quick reactions in their 4-0 loss to Barcelona.

Ledesma gave the supporters a thumbs up behind the goal, but the lack of a positive response from the fans confirmed that there was still a major problem and an eerie silence descended on the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium in Cádiz before the two teams are finally withdrawn.

The game was suspended for an hour and Cadiz president Manuel Vizcaino told Spanish radio the fan had been successfully resuscitated and taken to hospital.

Fans took to social media to praise Ledesma’s heroism to act quickly on the situation in the stands.

When the game resumed, Barcelona continued their 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski who had taken just nine minutes to score their ninth goal of the season in all competitions.

Ansu Fati also got minutes and he scored the third when the game restarted.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski had set up the third and he assisted Ousmane Dembele in injury time to make it 4-0.
