It was business as usual for former BYU football players in the NFL. Offensive starters Zach Wilson, Taysom Hill and Jamaal Williams all had excellent games, while defensive starters Daniel Sorensen, Fred Warner and Michael Davis all continued to fill in the stats sheet.

Zach Wilson went 21 for 34 passes for 297 yards, two touchdowns and an interception en route to his first victory as an NFL starter. Meanwhile, in his role as a Swiss Army Knife, Taysom Hill completed two passes in three for nine yards and an interception, caught two passes for 26 yards and rushed six times for 28 yards and two touchdowns. Jamaal Williams kept on beating, rushing 14 times for 66 yards.

In defense, Daniel Sorensen had nine solo tackles, Fred Warner also had nine tackles (five solo), while Michael Davis had five tackles in Monday night football.

In total, there were 12 former BYU players in action in week two (including three inactive), seven more on practice teams, with ten looking for opportunities to play. Below you get the number of snaps and stats for each active player.

Week 2 in action (12): eight starters and four substitutes

  • Brady christensen (OL, Panthers). Played five snaps on special teams (17%), no stats. Season totals: four games, one solo tackle.
  • Michael davis (CB, Chargers). Started and played all 57 defensive snaps (100%) and one special teams snap (4%). He recorded five tackles (four solo). Season totals: four games, 18 tackles (14 solo), two fumble recoveries for 36 yards.
  • Taysom Hill (QB, Saints). Started and played 34 Offensive Snaps (50%) and three Special Team Snaps (12%). He completed two passes in three for nine yards and one interception, caught two passes for 26 yards and rushed six times for 28 yards and two touchdowns. Season totals: four games, 3 assists in 4 for 12 yards and an interception, captured two passes for 26 yards, 16 rushes for 75 yards and three touchdowns, a tackle.
  • Harvey Langi (LB, Patriots). Played two defensive snaps (3%) and 19 special team snaps (66%) and did not record any snaps. Season totals: four games, one solo tackle.
  • Dallin Leavitt (DB, Raiders). Played a defensive snap (1%) and 16 special team snaps (59%), no stats. Season totals: two games, five tackles (one solo), one pass forbidden.
  • Daniel Sorensen (S, leaders). Started and played 73 defensive snaps (99%) and one special teams snap (4%). Had nine solo tackles. Season totals: three games, 30 tackles (23 solo), two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one pass forbidden.
  • Sione Takitaki (LB, Browns). Started and played 24 defensive snaps (36%) and made three tackles (two solo). Season totals: three games, six tackles (three solo), a loss tackle, a recovery fumble.
  • Khyiris Tonga (DT, Bear). Played seven defensive snaps (10%) and two snaps on special teams (10%), one solo tackle. Season totals: four games, six tackles (four solo).
  • Kyle Van Noy (LB, Patriots). Started and played 75 defensive snaps (96%) and landed a solo tackle. Season totals: three games, seven tackles (five solo), one sack, one tackle for loss, one quarterback touchdown, one pass defended.
  • Fred warner (OLB, 49ers). Started and played all 56 defensive snaps (100%), recorded nine tackles (five solo), one tackle for loss. Season totals: four games, 35 tackles (20 solo), two tackles for a loss.
  • Jamaal williams (RB, Lions). Started and played 21 offensive snaps (30%) and rushed 14 times for 66 yards. Season totals: four games, 42 races for 187 yards and two touchdowns, 13 receptions for 93 yards.
  • Zach Wilson (QB, Jets). Started and played all 61 offensive snaps (100%) and had 21 for 34 passes for 297 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed three times for -2 yards. Season totals: four games at 79 for 139 assists (.568), 925 yards, four touchdowns, eight interceptions. Seven races for 19 yards. He has been sacked 16 times (four sacks / game on average).

Listed but inactive Week 4 (3)

  • Francois Bernard (LB, Cowboys). Was inactive at week 4 (hamstring injury).
  • Dax milne (WR, Washington). Was inactive in week 4. Season totals: three games, no statistics.
  • Ty’son williams (RB, Ravens). Was inactive in week 4. Season totals: 27 rushes for 165 yards and a touchdown, five receptions for 45 yards.
